This is a scarce book and one offered by other dealers at £100 plus.

The Train at the End of the World

Published by Tranex Tourismo in Argentina in 2005 in English, the book describes the history of a narrow gauge railway in the very south of Argentina which was originally constructed to assist in the building of a prison. Later it was maintained and run by the more trusted convicts.

The prison closed in 1947 along with the railway but the area became a National Park in the 1990s and local entusiasts have worked to rebuild a large part of the line.
